Vegetal and Black Barista Mug

£28.00

This mug is wheel thrown using a lightly speckled St Thomas stoneware clay and finished with a comfortable hand-pulled handle. I’ve glazed the inside of the mug with a silky satin black glaze, and the outside with a shiny transparent. To finish the mugs, I’ve painted loosely vegetal patterns with a light copper wash, which moves from black and metallic when thick to green where thinner. Each mug is unique.

This mug features my more contemporary shape, called a barista style as it holds smaller volumes and lends itself well to foamed milk art when compared to my classic shape. Made in Margate, U.K.

Technical specifications: Mug is approximately 8 cm tall, 8.5 cm wide at the base, and holds approx. 300 ml. Each mug is handmade and unique so surface decoration and measurements will vary slightly. Please note that the iron wash can create a surface texture with small bumps and bubbles in contrast with the smooth matte ivory glaze - see macro images for example.
