Soft Teal and Speckle Recycleware Barista Mug

This mug is wheel thrown using a mixed recycled lightly flecked stoneware clay, and is finished with a comfortable pulled handle. I have glazed these mugs with a shiny white liner glaze on the inside of the mug and then with a light teal glaze that turns slightly brown/purple where it is thinner.

This mug is part of my Recycleware line, which is made from the recycled mixed stoneware clay and glazes that I collect in my water buckets when washing my tools and brushes. Because the base clay will be a mix of all stoneware clays we use in the studio, the pots in each of batch of the Recycleware line will be slightly different based on what we have been using recently. This line allows me to reduce the waste in my studio and prevent silt and glaze from entering into our waterways, as well as offer pots at a slightly lower price.

This mug features my more contemporary shape, called a barista style as it holds smaller volumes and lends itself well to foamed milk art when compared to my classic shape. Made in Margate, U.K.
