These medium-sized bowls are handmade with a buff stoneware clay, and dipped in a satin oatmeal-coloured glaze before being decorated with expressive strokes of an iron oxide wash. The iron in the brushwork brings out the natural texture in the clay, and my oatmeal glaze has slight crystallisation which means each brushstroke has a nearly pixellated effect.
These bowls are sold individually and have slight variations in size. Bowl A is is slightly shorter and wider, pictured at the bottom of the stack, and measures 16 cm across and 5.75 cm tall. Bowl B is taller and narrower, pictured at the top of the stack, and measures 15.5 cm across and 6 cm tall.
