Technical specifications: This carafe is approximately 9 cm tall, 10.5 cm wide at the base and 9.5 cm wide at the rim. It holds 500 ml. Each jug will vary slightly as they are handmade.
This carafe is thrown on the wheel using a buff stoneware clay and glazed in an ivory demi-matte glaze, leaving about an inch of raw clay exposed to highlight its natural texture. I’ve finished the pot with expressive brushstrokes using an iron wash, leaving a dark brown shiny motif on the outside of the jug. In my head, this is a coffee server, designed to hold a V60 or similar pourover dripper, but I’ve had others call is a gravy boat- whatever suits you!
Serving suggestion: Filter coffee or gravy, but never at the same time
