This handmade bottle vase is thrown on the wheel using a buff stoneware clay. It is glazed using a demi-matte ivory glaze, and then I have added expressive brushstrokes using a copper oxide wash to the outside of the pot and the inner rim. This wash leaves a dark grey and green pattern behind while also acting to make the underlying ivory glaze thinner and more transparent, creating a wide variation across the pot that highlights the natural texture of the clay and unpredictable nature of using oxides.
