This small handmade stoneware utensil holder is inspired from old fashioned crocks and updated with a more modern take. It is thrown on the wheel using a buff stoneware and glazed in a butter yellow demi-matte glaze with about one centimeter of raw clay showing to highlight the natural texture of the buff clay. I have then added an expressive brushstroke motif using an iron oxide wash which leaves a red-brown shiny finish. Perfect for brushes, pencils, or small kitchen utensils.
